Dropbox and KeePassDroid

The new Dropbox Android app plays nicely with KeePassDroid. I use Dropbox to synchronize my keepass database, because it is available on all of the platforms I use daily: Linux, Windows, and Android.

It's very easy to use. I install it on my desktop first, and move my keepass database into my dropbox. Then, fire up the Dropbox Android app, and log in:

Navigate to your database and click on it:

It will jump to the password screen in KeePassDroid:

In the background the Dropbox app will be waiting to see if you make changes to the database.  If you do, it will upload your changes back to your Dropbox.

KeePass 2.0/.kdbx support

Sorry to keep you all waiting. The new version of KeePassDroid has beta read-only support for .kdbx databases. I haven't exposed the additional fields this format supports, yet. I'll slowly get it all in.  Please keep backups and help me shake out the bugs.

Thanks to @kibmcz for the new icons.

Copy and paste username and password from notifications

In version 0.9.5, a new feature has been added to make it easier to copy and paste usernames and passwords.

Now, whenever you open an entry in your database, two options will be added to your notification bar:

Select user name or password while in you are in the web browser application to quickly copy and paste both of them without switching back and forth.

These options will disappear when you close the entry or when the database times out.

KeePassDroid 0.9.0

  • Create new databases on your device
  • Auto sort entries when adding new ones

KeePassDroid 0.6

New features:
  • Change database password
  • Change number of encryption rounds. A lower setting will speed up loading and saving your database. This comes at the cost of decreasing the cost of a brute force dictionary attack against your database.
I'm very close to support the creation of new databases on the device.
